Why Hair Transplantation
Hair transplantation is a surgical procedure that involves removing hair follicles from one part of the body (usually the back or sides of the head, where hair is resistant to balding) and implanting them into an area with thinning or no hair. This procedure is primarily performed for individuals who are experiencing hair loss or baldness and seek to restore a natural-looking head of hair.
A Permanent Solution
The main advantage of a hair transplant is that it is a permanent procedure. The long-term outcome of a hair transplant is subject to certain conditions.
It must be understood that the “newly transplanted” hair will start falling off around six weeks after surgery. However, this is a temporary phase, and new hair will grow out of the graft in another five to six weeks.
The transplanted hair may also thin over time, just like the normal hair.
You will need a surgical “touch-up” after the transplant procedure to create more natural-looking results. These will be done weeks after your initial cuts have healed. Some individuals may need multiple attempts to have a head full of hair.

A Natural Look
When performed by a skilled surgeon, a hair transplant can provide a very natural and aesthetically pleasing result. The transplanted hair blends seamlessly with the existing hair, and the growth pattern mimics natural hair. Hair Restoration Turkey’s surgical hair transplant results look so natural that they’re virtually undetectable.

FAQ
To prepare for your procedure, it’s recommended that you stop taking blood-thinning medications or supplements. However, it’s important that you consult with your primary care physician before stopping or changing any medication plan. We also recommend that you avoid vitamins or dietary supplements for at least two weeks before the procedure.
During the first two weeks, it’s important to be gentle with the donor and recipient areas. You should protect your scalp from the sun and any friction from external elements. Also, it’s best to sleep with your head elevated to reduce the swelling and to help avoid any swelling on your forehead. You can use over-the-counter painkillers to help with any discomfort.
While side effects are rare, the most common side effects you may experience include minor bleeding, swelling, itching, or dry skin. Pain, swelling, and minor bleeding may happen right after the transplant, but it’s unlikely and will stop after a few days. Itching is a common reaction, and it occurs as your scalp begins to heal. Remember not to scratch your scalp to avoid disturbing the transplanted hair follicles. It’s rare to experience side effects like infection after a hair follicular unit extraction, but without proper aftercare, it is a possibility.
